Scholarships

The main purpose of the Nueces County A&M Club is to establish, maintain, and support scholarship programs for students who have graduated from a high school in Nueces County and have enrolled full-time at Texas A&M University (TAMU).

The club’s scholarship program is coordinated with the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at TAMU. The scholarship applications of worthy candidates who both identify Nueces County as their home county in the application for freshman admission and have been accepted to TAMU as full time students will be forwarded to the club’s Vice President of Scholarships. The Vice President forms a scholarship committee, which reviews the applications in early spring. Recipients are notified in late summer before the fall term begins.

The committee offers a scholarship valuing between $1000-$5000 to 2-4 top applicants. The scholarship value is distributed over the course of 4 years through the student’s Financial Aid Portal. It is renewed every year contingent upon academic performance. For example, a scholarship recipient who received a $4000 scholarship will receive $1000 a year for 4 years if they remain in good academic standing throughout their college career.

It is recommended that students fill out the scholarship portion of the freshman application in it’s entirety. ACT/SAT test scores are not required but it is recommended that students submit official scores to the university to be considered for the scholarship.

Applicants may also qualify for other scholarships through TAMU and other programs. Please visit the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid for more information.

The Texas A&M Foundation also offers scholarships. Please visit their website for more information.

The Texas A&M Aggie One Stop also has a list of scholarship search websites that can be utilized.
